Urea Formaldehyde Plants

Proplant has the capability and technology to provide an efficient UFC-85 plant.  Proplant’s offer includes complete UFC-85 plant along with the cooling tower.  The plant is simple to operate and needs only one operator per shift.  Based on operating experience, maintenance of the plant is expected to be minimal.  Existing plant operators from the Ammonia/Urea/Utilities plants can be trained within a 30-day period to effectively run the plant.

Proplant’s scope of UFC-85 plant includes storage and pumping of methanol to the UFC-85 plant.  The Plant includes a methanol storage tank and associated safety controls and pumping system.  Tank capacity and location can be determined based on final details and plant location.

Proplant’s process is exclusively designed for UFC-85 production for treating urea granules and prills.  This offers the plant with lower capital cost and easy operation and maintenance.  The proprietary design of equipment ensures steady composition of UFC-85 with fewer parameters of concern to the plant operator.

Proplant’s process utilizes urea solution from the urea recovery scrubber in the granulation units.  This makes a perfect water balance in the process and eliminates the need for additional water for urea dissolving.  In addition, this brings down the urea plant evaporation level, and in some urea plants where evaporation is limiting, the urea production could produce more urea.  Since Proplant’s process makes a perfect water balance, there is no excess water leading to formaldehyde contaminated water effluent.  Proplant process can also use 70-75% urea solution from the urea solution tank.

Proplant’s process controls the formation of formic acid by controlled oxidation, and neutralizes acid formed in the process.  UFC-85 is produced at lower temperature, thus ensuring the product to be free of turbidity or solidification for up to a 2 year period.
